The Concert Version

Running Time: 1 Hour (no intermission)

The Concert Version is a “press-and-play” Choral/Band Presentation for 3-30 singers. This production does not need individual solo voices, a band, costumes or props.  Three to thirty singers can perform it along with the recorded music, PowerPoint Slides and/or Animations provided. Print the music, send the songs and lyrics home with your musicians to practice on their own, sing it together as a choir 4-6 times  -  then “on with the show!”

After you get going, if you wish to to make this more of a theatrical production, consider adding:

  • A small band (Whatever you have handy - like a guitar, bass, piano, drums, accordion, mandolin, etc.)
  • 3D props (We’ve included pdfs of the Wittenberg Door, Luther’s Desk, German Knights on horseback, etc.)
  • Costuming (Simple capes, hats and shawls will do)
  • Individual solo parts

If you wish to cast individual parts, consider assigning some or all of these voices for the specific roles listed below, bearing in mind that some will have just one or two lines so members of the "chorus" can step up and sing those parts.  For instance, a member of the chorus might don an ermine cape/shawl and the audience knows it is Charles. Glue on a mutton-chop beard and the audience knows it is Frederick. A pointed white hat tells the audience it is Pope Leo. Young Luther might wear monk's robe at first and a preaching gown and doctoral hat later on. Be as minimalist or as elaborate as time, budget and imagination allows. Individual part available might include:
