Stage Version

Running time of 2:30 (plus intermission)

This full length theatrical play tells the story of Luther’s complex relationship with his reluctant protector, Elector Frederick of Saxony, who owned the largest religious relic collection in the world outside of Rome. The play is designed for a 30-50 member cast, band, and optional dancers. It includes 48 songs, dozens of 3-D spray-mountable props, promotional materials, plus optional 3-screen projections for an immersive multi-media experience.

Music is by George Baum, Michael Bridges and Rich Melheim, with consultations from Broadway’s Michale Rapp (Jesus Christ Superstar, Rasputin, The Ring). If you choose to use the prerecorded orchestrations, you’ll sing along with Peder Eide (Luther), Rachel Kurtz (Katharina), Robert Robinson (Frederick), John Hermanson (Staupitz), Jonathan Swenson (Father Hans), Tonia Hughes (Mother Margarethe) and a team of talented vocalists and instrumentalists.
